R U OK? acknowledges the traditional owners of the beautiful lands on which we live and pays respect to elders past and present. R U OK? acknowledges the pain and suffering of First Nations people and the higher rates of suicide in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Asking R U OK? is something we can all do to keep communities and people strong and connected. Talking, listening and spending time with your mob could help someone when they need it. Arrernte, Luritja, Pitjantjatjara, and Warlpiri language speakers participated in workshops focused on individual community needs and cultural values, which empowered community members to make the R U OK? message their own.
The in-language videos, social media tiles and posters form part of ‘Stronger Together’, a targeted campaign to increase the sense of connection and belonging within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. The resources feature messages that promote a sense of connection, hope and identity.
They are free to view and download below and we encourage you to share the message in your community.
As a part of the Stronger Together campaign, R U OK? has developed resources to remind everyone to ask their mob, in their way, R U OK?. Check out the range of free resources including the Stronger Together Conversation Guide, posters, videos, social media tiles and more.
It's often hard to talk about how you feel, but is there someone that you trust you could yarn to? That can really help.
