2023 marked 15 years since our late founder Gavin Larkin held the first R U OK?Day. Since 2009 many, many thousands of Australians have asked, 'are you OK?', and started a meaningful conversation to support someone they care about through a tough time.
Every day we hear from Australians who share with us the positive impact of an R U OK? conversation on their life or the lives of the people close to them. Thanks to each and every one of you who play such an important role in building our vision of a world where everyone is connected and protected from suicide.
Our 'R U OK? in 2023' video highlights some of the wonderful work being done across Australia by our passionate community of supporters. We look forward to encouraging more life changing conversations in 2024.
Holiday office closure
The R U OK? office will close for the holiday break from Friday 22 December through to Tuesday 9 January.
If you are experiencing difficult emotions during the Christmas/New Year period, please consider calling Lifeline on 13 11 14 for a confidential listening ear, any time of the day or night. If you are concerned for your own safety or that of others, please call Triple Zero (000).
You can also find information about support services on the R U OK? website
